Post by: beano150 Hello, Bin Weevils! It's beano150 here with your latest Friday update. So how has your week been? Mine has been EPIC! I got some really exciting news on Tuesday, too. I've been invited to the experience of a lifetime... The Beano Experience! This means I've been given access to a TOP SECRET London location where I'll take part in loads of activities true to Beano spirit. This includes a gunge tank, giant catapult, help power up the launch of the brand new Beano (yep, it's getting a makeover) and loads more! I'll try my best to get pictures and videos if allowed at the event to upload them on Twitter. However, I may not take my phone because one thing is guaranteed - I'm gonna get messy at the event and I don't want to ruin my phone! As this event takes place in London, finishing at 5pm, I probably will not be back in time (due to long train journeys) to host my Sunday party. But fear not! There will still be a party on Saturday. Invite below! -beano150
Post by: beano150 Hello, Weevils. It's beano150 here with my review of the new Buddy Messenger. Please remember this post contains my personal opinions and I do not expect everyone to agree with them. The new Buddy Messenger - what's new?Rather than the original News Tablet which had just two features (blog notifications and messaging), this has been replaced with a phone-type gadget. Whilst the leaderboards and ignore list presently still remain on the old buddy list menu, everything else has moved to the new gadget. This includes the blog notifications, buddy messaging, buddy notifications and your buddy list. I will go through each feature in that order below, with my thoughts on each one. Blog NotificationsThe blog notifications display in a very similar way to the previous News Tablet. I like the way the blog listings are displayed, showcasing the latest big news in the Binscape. Buddy MessagesWith the new Buddy Messenger, you can chat to your buddies in real time. You can check the exact date and time of which a message was sent and received. Yellow messages are your received messages and purple messages are messages that you sent yourself. Buddy NotificationsThe buddy notifications appear similar to the way they did on the previous News Tablet. I think it is a good feature however one thing I would change is, if I didn't want my buddies knowing what I'm doing in the Binscape, I think there should be an option so my notifications do not appear in my buddies' menus. The buddy list is new and improved! You can now search for buddies using the search bar (I have 9 spaces left so don't be offended if I say no) and clicking the search icon which looks like a magnifying glass in a blue circle. To message a buddy from the list click the white envelope with a + icon on it. If you wish to delete a buddy click the rubbish bin icon. A green circle means your buddy is online and a red circle means they are offline. A purple row with a tick and a cross is a pending request. Clicking the green tick adds them to your buddy list and clicking the red cross rejects their request. The clicking your buddy name on the list feature is due to return when Bin Weevils Connect is fully released, as are any other currently broken features, so don't worry about that.
Overall, I give this update a 5/5. I love it and I find it much better than the previous layout. I do believe this is going to be the design for the Bin Weevils Connect menus, too. Thank you for reading my review, please feel free to comment your opinions below. -beano150 Post by: beano150 Breaking News!:Your Party Invite!:-beano150
Post by: beano150 Hello, Bin Weevils! It's beano150 here with your latest Friday update. How has your week been? I've had a decent week, which has been okay. Have you noticed the updated buddy messenger on Bin Weevils? I like it, it's cool. I especially like the fact you can message buddies as if you're on a social networking website now - in real time! The ability to view previously sent messages is just what we needed and the fact the team also extended the list to 100 buddies just shows they do listen to our ideas. I hope you're looking forward to the weekend... because I am! Here's your latest (new style!) party invite, so I can't wait to see each and every one of you there: -beano150
Post by: beano150 Hello, Bin Weevils. It's beano150 here with my review on this month on Bin Weevils. Please remember this is an opinion post and you do not have to agree or disagree with what I state, everyone has their own opinions and you are of course, as everyone is, entitled to your own. 1 - Bin Weevils Connect This app was announced for release in August and, even though it wasn't officially confirmed on the Weevil News Blog in August, it was released in that month. This app was initially said to be released on Google Play and iOS, however at present the app is only available on Google Play. I don't mind this because I have an Android device myself (which uses Google Play), and finally iOS users know what it's like to not be able to download an app they want. Bin Weevils Connect rating - 5/5 2 - Furby Connect This is a good event. I like the idea of a Furby gadget in-game, to notify you of latest Furby news. Go to Gong's Pipenest to collect a free Nest Item. Admittedly, the small Furby gadget above the Weevil emoticon changer does slightly annoy me and might take a while to get used to. I feel this could have instead been an icon next to the special moves selector, perhaps on the left hand side of it? There is room there and it would not be as annoying or "in your face". I would also like to have my say on this situation, where people have been saying Bin Weevils have "copied" Furby for calling the new buddy message app "Connect". I disagree on this, it isn't just Bin Weevils and Furby that have apps called "Connect". Many apps have the word "Connect" at the end of the app title, one app I used to play a few years ago on my first smartphone I got had it. Therefore, no copying has been involved here. Furby Connect rating - 4/5 3 - Scribbles' Birthday This is just one of the exciting events we see each year now, with exciting fun for players across the Binscape including celebrity meet 'n' greets, Scribbles' Big Birthday Bash and some cool new Scribbles Nest Items. I am interested to find out what the new items look like, and am glad we haven't been instantly shown them in the September highlights, so it makes it more exciting for when they are announced and released. Not only that, but you can also enter to win a Bin Tycoon Membership. There are 20 memberships to be given away, according to the highlights post. Nice! Scribbles' Birthday rating - 5/5 4 - Summer Fair Last Chance As September is here which means school reopens, that unfortunately means Summer ends and so does the Summer Fair. You have until Monday, 12th September 2016 to visit the Summer Fair and collect all of the prizes if you haven't already. One thing I am hoping for is the double/triple ticket bonanza like previous years. Summer Fair Last Chance rating - 5/5 5 - Talk Like A Pirate Day Last year, we had pirate week with a team event which was cool. I'm hoping for another one of these this year, because they work well for interacting with players and put even more excitement into the Binscape. As long as we don't have to change our looks to specific colours or shapes etc just for a Nest invite or party access, that's fine by me. I am looking forward to this! Talk Like A Pirate Day rating - 5/5 6 - Under The Sea Nest Items I like the look of those featured Nest Items. I do not believe that is the entire set, because when a Nest Item set is released it usually consists of more than 6 items. I could be wrong but I think they could be released on Talk Like A Pirate Day - under the sea links with pirates, and notice how they included this beneath the Talk Like A Pirate Day section? However that could be just a coincidence. I guess we'll have to wait and find out. Under The Sea Nest Items rating - 5/5 7 - Future-Worm This is in my opinion, from the promotions this month (Furby Connect and Future-Worm), my favourite one so far. I'm not sure if the Furby Connect promotion has properly arrived in the Binscape yet, but for now I prefer Future-Worm. It includes Nest items to collect, a nice mission containing games, a quiz, a competition, and a special move. Future-Worm rating - 5/5 Overall, this is one of the best months we have had in the Binscape in my opinion.
Please do feel free to comment on this post with what your favourite event is this month. Thank you for reading this post! -beano150 Post by: beano150 Hello, Bin Weevils!
