Welcome to a new blog post!
It's beano150 here with my review of Weevil Jump, the latest Weevil World game! Fans of Doodle Jump and Bin Pet Bounce will be familiar with this game. You simply tilt your device to move and tap anywhere to shoot using the app or use your arrow keys to move and press your space bar to shoot on the web client. On the app you can continue from where you left off, by watching a short video (an advertisement) which is perfect for when you're determined to get that high score. Although I have not yet been able to get past my current high score I wouldn't call this game difficult. However, that is good since the target audience (children) don't want games to be too hard otherwise there would be no point in them playing. I will finish off with mentioning that there are no in-game upgrades costing Dosh (unlike Bubble Blast), however you can collect power ups during your game session which are free. I give this game a 5 star rating for quality gameplay, great graphics, free power ups and the ability to play on the web version and the app. Thanks for reading my review, be sure to share yours in the comments! -beano150

Hello Weevils. You may have noticed that recently Adverts have been popping up everywhere on Binweevils. First of all it was in game once in a while and it wasn't to bad, however it was a bit annoying. But now they are literally everywhere. If you go to the Binweevils home page you will see a advert pop up at the bottom of your screen. As well as in the slide show box. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE! This is getting ridiculous now. Binweevils is literally 50% adverts now. I don't understand why they are just trying to throw adverts in kids faces to make spend money. Its very becoming clear that the only way they are keeping Binweevils open at the moment is with the money they are getting from these ads. This needs to stop, so Binweevils. Stop pushing ads in our faces, and start actually developing the game.
Howdy, Weevils! An exciting Saturday update has rolled out on Weevil World. It is now possible to purchase Dosh top ups directly within the Weevil World app - and compared to the Bin Weevils website available top ups, the Weevil World options are priced better. Here are the prices: As you can see, the cheapest option on Weevil World is £1.99. This seems like more than Bin Weevils but if you look at it another way, it really isn't. Setting you down just £1.99 will credit 150 Dosh into your Weevil account, whereas £2 (2 x 10 Dosh top ups) on Bin Weevils only gets you 20. £4.99, which is really just £1.04 more than the second option on Bin Weevils gets you 375 Dosh, £3.95 is only worth a 50 Dosh top up with Bin Weevils. If you decide to push out to just under £10, you will get 1000 Dosh on Weevil World or 150 Dosh on Bin Weevils. And if you want to break the bank for just below £20, you'll be given 2,500 Dosh when purchased with Weevil World or 360 Dosh with Bin Weevils. Note: The £9.99 option on Weevil World may become 750 Dosh and the £19.99 option could become 1,500. These have strikes through what I assume to be the "normal" top up amount, and these might just be introductory offers - it is unclear at this moment in time. From a chat with unicron7022 recently, he confirmed Dosh top ups and membership are going to be featured in the app: So there you have it. Membership may well be the next thing coming in terms of in-app purchases. I wonder if this will be cheaper than the Bin Weevils Dosh top ups, or if the prices on the Bin Weevils membership page will be changed to match the new prices on Weevil World? I only hope so.
The fact the Dosh is cheaper on Weevil World (or, at least, better value for money) is a good thing. There are other advantages of the in-app purchases for Dosh on Weevil World as well, including... - It's more convenient, you can pay from your phone or tablet within an app, no need to log-into the Bin Weevils website on your phone, tablet, laptop. - It has more payment methods; PayPal, phone billing (like O2 Billing), Google Play credit or simply just your bank card registered with your Google Play account (sorry, Apple users, I don't know how your billing methods work!) Will I be using this Dosh top up feature? Well, that depends. If I run low on Dosh and really want an item(s) or clothing, that I cannot afford, then maybe. But I try not to spend too much money on app purchases, so maybe I'll use my Google Opinion Rewards credit for Dosh top ups instead. Thanks for reading! -Beano150 Hi there, Weevils! It is beano150 here and have I got a scoop for you (well, two actually, but let's go through this one first)! The latest issue of BEANO NEWS just went live - issue#176 is available in-game now and is published by me (beano150). This is a very special issue... why is that, I hear you ask? Well, it has a very special gigantic ten page story inside it! Read the synopsis of it above and see a special preview. Doesn't the cover just invite you into the magazine, though? :P Log in to your Bin Weevils account now and read the magazine! It's a story you cannot miss, even if I do say so myself. Next scoop? Okay then. Here goes nothing... ...I'VE ONLY GONE AND DONE IT - I HAVE WON THE BEST DRESSED COMPETITION ON WEEVIL WORLD!Want proof? Sure thing. Here's screenshots of the popup I got from my session playing Weevil World earlier today (and you can view this yourself using the new newspaper slideshow feature in the game itself): How awesome is that? I was the first winner showcased on the selection of winners, and I have the plaque displayed in my Halloween Holiday Home!
55 Pixels team, if you are reading this, thank you so much for choosing me as a winner! :) Thanks for reading, see you in the next post and in the next issue of Beano News! -beano150 Welcome to October!Things are about to get seriously spooky in the Binscape and tropical island we all know and love... that is Bin Weevils and Weevil World! We are now ten months into the year (I know right, can you believe it?!) and it is less than half a year until Christmas and the new year! October sure does look to be a fun month packed with awesomeness. So, let's get right into the October highlights review for Bin Weevils & Weevil World! Starting with Weevil World first, this October looks like a great month of spooky fun! Spooky Scenery will be added to Weevil World... so darkness will fall across the land, as October spirits take command! Secondly, ghoulish clothing will be released every single week throughout October. This is sure to be something to log in for! As suggested in the image background, it looks like six clothing outfits and/or accessories will be released this month. Nice (but don't quote me on that, no official announcement of how many outfits will be released per week has been made yet)! Thirdly, this is a tie-in with the clothing. If you dress to impress with a unique spooky style using the new clothing, you could win an exclusive spooky best dressed winner plaque! Winners will be announced weekly, so good luck! Fourthly, eerie 'gothic' items will be released every (w)eeek! The fifth highlight for Weevil World is an item naming contest. You could win a prize pack and be credited in the item description when it goes on sale, by helping to name the skeleton bird. Click here if you wish to enter! Overall, I give this month 5 stars as it would be true to say none of this has happened on Weevil World before because, well, it is the first Halloween celebrated on Weevil World since the game officially opened in June this year. I can't wait for all of the spooky fun to start, and the best bit? I will be able to celebrate later this month when I'll be on holiday... because I have the app! Awesome! Bin WeevilsNow, even though Weevil World looks like a great month, sadly I don't say the same for Bin Weevils this year. Yes, I do enjoy the content on the game, and yes, that means I like Manic Manor, Spooky Science, Witches Cafe and everything else on it. However, correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no new content that I notice this year that is different to the 2016 event. I feel the team could have prepared some new Nest Items for Bin Weevils at least, but at least Weevil World will be a good month and those who haven't experienced Bin Weevils' Halloween party before (the new players) will enjoy it. This month, I give Bin Weevils a total rating of 2.5 for the Halloween plans.
Please remember the purpose of this post is to share my own opinion and of course you are entitled to your own. Thank you for reading my review, see you in the next post! -Beano150 |
